A data protection officer (DPO) plays a crucial role in ensuring an organization complies with data protection laws and effectively manages data privacy. A DPO is responsible for compliance monitoring, developing and implementing data protection strategies, risk assessments, training and awareness, incident management, data protection advisory and serving as the point of contact between the organization and the regulatory authorities as well as the data subjects amongst such other related roles.
